LG’s first 4K UHD projector
This first offering from LG’s new HU80K series claims to be half the size of competing 4K projectors while being easier on the wallet and maintaining image quality. This 4K UHD projector can create a 150-inch screen at 2,500 lumens, making this the company’s brightest projector. Its webOS 3.5 smart TV interface can access the most popular online streaming services offering 4K content. It also supports HDR content (HDR 10) for an enhanced cinematic experience on the yacht.
However, any interested parties should know that despite being LG’s brightest projector to date it is still not suitable for use out on the deck unless conditions are pitch black.
Samsung’s “The Wall” Modular TV
Samsung’s new giant TV, titled ‘The Wall’, features a micro-LED display and was on show at CES at 146 inches. Micro-LED technology is claimed to be an advance on OLED, offering both deep blacks and bright highlights.
But what is most interesting about this TV is not its size, it’s the ability to customise this size and shape to whatever an owner may desire. This is because the display is composed of many smaller modules that can be arranged to suit any space – ideal for yachts where space is always at a premium.
Yahama’s FAZER R Helicopter
This unmanned helicopter for highly precise spraying is intended for industrial use, but we imagine it could be used for superyacht maintenance in the not so distant future.
The company claims that the FAZER R improves upon all existing unmanned helicopter technology with its “Turn Assistance” feature. This should mean improved controllability and spraying performance by turning to maintain fixed spacing for spraying, holding evenly spaced flying paths, and maintaining flying speed.
This function aims to improve spraying accuracy without relying on the operator’s flying skill.
QYSEA Technology’s LTDFIFISH P3
QYSEA Technology’s LTDFIFISH P3 drone can capture 4K HD Footage and 20-Megapixel photos underwater, livestreaming back to the controller so moments can be witnessed in real time. Its 4000 Lumens LED lights – with 8 adjustable levels of brightness – ensure that the user can capture good detail even in dark or unclear ocean conditions.
FIFISH is reported to have a HDMI output, meaning it could be integrated into yacht distribution system for live viewing on a large TV, this ROV operates at up to 100m.
